Arkansas River Trail

Stunning scenery; natural habitats, wetlands, and nature centers; museums and cultural attractions; parks and gardens; and shopping and dining are just a few things you’ll encounter along the Arkansas River Trail. Built for cyclists, joggers, skaters, walkers, and puppies too, this recreational trail system crisscrosses the Arkansas River over 4 pedestrian bridges along its 88.5 mile roundtrip route from downtown Little Rock to Pinnacle Mountain and beyond into Faulkner and Perry Counties.

The most popular part of the trail is a 15.6 mile loop that winds its way along both sides of the Arkansas River from the Clinton Presidential Bridge on the east to the Big Dam Bridge on the west and back again. The loop runs through Little Rock’s Riverfront Park and North Little Rock’s Riverside Park. The trail continues on from the Big Dam Bridge for a full 88.5 mile round trip trek.

Good to Know

  • Bike rentals are available in downtown Little Rock at Rock Town River Outfitters.

  • The trail is equipped with bicycle stations.

  • Much of the Grand Loop is on road with some or no shoulder.
